In contrapposizione ai premi Oscar, come ogni anno, verranno assegnati i Razzie Awards, ovvero i premi assegnati alle peggiori pellicole dell’anno. 

A dominare, con ben 8 candidature a testa, ci sono Cats, adattamento dell’omonimo musical; Rambo: Last Blood, il quinto capitolo delle avventure di John Rambo e A Madea Family Funeral, l’episodio più recente di un noto franchise comico ideato dall’attore e regista Tyler Perry.

La cerimonia  dei Golden Raspberry Awards (è questo il vero nome dei Razzie) si terrà dopo la notte degli Oscar, andando contro la tradizione (di solito i vincitori sono annunciati la sera prima della consegna degli Academy Awards), e per la prima volta nei quarant’anni di esistenza del premio l’evento sarà trasmesso in TV.
